About
Welcome to

Blu-ray.org.uk is a free, independent online encyclopedia dedicated to everything Blu-ray. Created by Æ Firestone (Mr. Firestone), it serves enthusiasts, developers, and anyone curious about the format. Because most official Blu-ray technical specifications are confidential or poorly documented, this site fills the gap with clear, reliable information. Every article includes legitimate sources where possible, and some include original research and analysis.
Site Focus
The main emphasis is on the BDMV application format (the standard used for commercial Blu-ray discs). Other Blu-ray topics are added regularly.
Ultra HD Blu-ray has its own separate category because it is a distinct, slower-adopting format, while standard Blu-ray remains far more widely used.
Current State
The site is still growing. We already have over 100 articles and counting, with more on the way. It is not perfect yet, but it is built to be a comprehensive, trustworthy resource.
Editing and Contributions
Unlike public wikis, only the site owner (Mr. Firestone) can edit articles. This prevents vandalism and keeps the information accurate and consistent.
If you have additional valuable information or corrections for any article, feel free to leave a comment on that page (with a legitimate source). You will be credited unless you choose to remain anonymous. Please read the Comment Rules first.
