List of HTTP websites for Opera Browser v9
Most Blu-ray players such as the Sony BDP-S390 use the Opera Browser (Version 9) for web browsing and web apps. However, the browser only uses the HTTP protocol, thus making it impossible to view modern websites that use the modern and secure HTTPS protocol.
Opera 9 Limitations:
- Too many images may cause slowdown
- HTTP connection only
- Uses basic (and old) HTML 4 and JavaScript (CSS is limited or non-existent)
- PNG, JPEG, and GIF only
- Unicode 2.0 support but some characters such as misc. characters (emojis) and CJK characters don't render.
- No fancy fonts (Regular, Italic, and bold only)
- Lacks the hardware-accelerated rendering!
- Opens Text and MP3 files (Longer MP3 files take a minute or two to load)
Here's a list of HTTP compatible websites that can be viewed on the Opera browser on the Sony BDP-S390, similar models or a Blu-ray player with an Opera browser.
